AppZen, a leading agentic AI platform for finance teams, announced it raised $180 million in growth funding. Riverwood Capital led the round, bringing scale-up expertise and global reach. The investment will help AppZen accelerate autonomous finance adoption for enterprise clients.
The platform uses proprietary ZenLM models and the Mastermind AI Automation Platform to streamline workflows in T&E, accounts payable, and corporate card programs. More than 500 enterprises, including over 65 Fortune 500 companies, rely on AppZen to automate transactions, cut costs, and reallocate up to two-thirds of manual workload to high-value tasks.
Funding Fuels Enterprise AI Expansion
The Series D funding enables AppZen to deploy agentic AI at scale, converting standard procedures into digital coworkers. CFOs can replace over 50% of manual finance work while scaling operations efficiently.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Riverwood Capital to bring agentic AI to every finance team,” said Anant Kale, Co-founder and CEO of AppZen. “This funding accelerates deployment of Mastermind AI Agents, letting finance workflows run on autopilot.”
Enterprises face increasing pressure to reduce costs, manage compliance, and prevent fraud across global operations. To address these challenges, they are adopting artificial intelligence rapidly. The global AI market is projected to grow from $290 billion in 2025 to $1.7 trillion by 2032, with 33% of enterprise software expected to embed agentic AI by 2028.
AppZen leads autonomous finance with AI Agents that eliminate manual reviews, reduce spend leakage, and ensure regulatory compliance. Its platform supports multi-entity and multi-currency operations in over 60 countries.
“AppZen transforms how global enterprises manage finance, audit transactions, and run payables,” said Francisco Alvarez-Demalde, Co-founder and Managing Partner at Riverwood Capital. Both Alvarez-Demalde and partner Alex Porto joined AppZen’s Board of Directors.
The Mastermind AI Studio allows teams to convert standard procedures into AI Agents without coding or IT resources. Customers can deploy digital workers to reduce headcount costs, speed processing, and maintain compliance.
Airbus reported that AppZen reduced workloads for T&E analysts, allowing them to focus on strategic activities. The platform identified policy ambiguities and removed inconsistent micro-policies across the organization.
