Microsoft 365 Integration

Xero Microsoft 365 Integration is set to redefine how businesses manage financial information across daily workflows. Xero Microsoft 365 Integration connects Xero’s live financial data with Microsoft 365 applications, allowing small businesses and accountants to access real-time financial intelligence without leaving their preferred productivity tools. Moreover, Xero Microsoft 365 Integration introduces AI-powered assistance through JAX, helping users retrieve financial insights and complete tasks more efficiently.

At launch, JAX, Xero’s AI financial superagent, enables actions within Microsoft 365 Copilot. As a result, users can ask financial questions and receive customized responses based on live Xero data. Furthermore, the integration establishes a foundation for broader capabilities across Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Business owners often switch between multiple applications during daily operations. Consequently, they can lose valuable financial context while working outside Xero. Therefore, the new integration keeps financial intelligence available throughout everyday business activities. Additionally, users can return directly to Xero whenever they need to complete advanced financial workflows.

“Business owners are constantly switching between tools and losing financial context when they are working outside of Xero. Bringing JAX into the Microsoft ecosystem is another major milestone in our push to remove operational complexity for our customers,” said Diya Jolly, Chief Product and Technology Officer at Xero. “Whether you’re forecasting in Excel or building a pitch in PowerPoint, Copilot can instantly surface the insights behind your business’s financial health, with a clear, seamless path back to Xero as the source of truth and destination for deeper work.”

Microsoft 365 AI: Financial Intelligence Becomes More Integrated

With integration, users can pull answers and complete actions through Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat. JAX offers live business information, financial insights, text summaries, and action confirmations. For example, users can find top customers, view due invoices or view overdue payments. There are also clickable links that take users back to Xero to send payment reminders etc.

Another advantage of Excel is that it can directly access live Xero financial data. Users get structured tables in spreadsheets instead of exporting CSV files. This allows finance teams to analyze profit and loss figures, monitor overdue invoices and create forecasting models with current financial information. This approach reduces manual preparation and improves reporting accuracy.

Xero enables word users to automatically generate narrative reports with live financial data. Companies can also prepare board reports, loan applications and financial summaries without having to manually copy or reformat numbers. This makes it easier to create documents and ensures consistent and accurate financial reporting.

Business Gets Smarter Reporting and Planning Capabilities

PowerPoint users can now build presentations with live financial metrics. The integration automatically creates charts, revenue trends and performance indicators from current business data. That means organizations can report on financial performance with more confidence and less manual design work.

Xero is still the place to do the nitty gritties of financial workflows. Whether users are accessing data via Copilot Chat, Word, Excel or PowerPoint, they can quickly bounce back to Xero via embedded links. Xero also plans to add support for other Microsoft 365 apps including Outlook and Teams.

“With financial intelligence from Xero accessible in Microsoft 365, Xero customers will have real-time, data-backed insights right in the apps they already use every day,” said Bryan Allen, Director of Product Marketing, Microsoft 365 Copilot at Microsoft. “In today’s dynamic business environment, we look forward to seeing this integration deliver new levels of operational efficiency for small businesses and accountants around the world.”

The latest integration demonstrates Xero’s continued investment in AI-powered financial management and workplace productivity. As organizations increasingly rely on connected software ecosystems, the collaboration with Microsoft 365 enables businesses to make informed decisions faster while improving efficiency through real-time financial intelligence.
