William Blair Investment Management announced the launch of its new Global Leaders Select Strategy and named Chandan Khanna co-portfolio manager. He will work alongside Hugo Scott-Gall, Head of William Blair’s Global Equity Team, co-leading the strategy. This move expands the actively managed global equity offerings of William Blair Investment Management. Also, the new approach continues the firm’s focus on long-term investment performance through high quality global companies.
The Global Leaders Select Strategy is a focused portfolio of 25 to 35 top global companies. The companies possess strong quality and sustainable growth attributes. And the strategy is benchmark neutral. It aims to generate long-term returns through conviction-based investing, concentrated portfolios and the power of compounding. Investors can therefore access a portfolio that has been carefully chosen for consistent, long-term growth.
William Blair Expands Global Equity Platform
The new strategy leverages the well-established global equity expertise of William Blair Investment Management and the investment framework that Chandan Khanna has successfully implemented since 2021. Also, the portfolio construction is quite in line with the philosophy that Khanna used before he joined the firm. The strategy is new with William Blair, but Khanna has a five-year investment record with the same disciplined approach.
Khanna will work on the portfolio with Hugo Scott-Gall and the firm’s veteran global equity team. Together they will bring to bear William Blair’s deep fundamental research capabilities and decades of experience in quality investing. So the strategy benefits from both deep market analysis and disciplined stock selection.
The Global Leaders Select Strategy further complements William Blair’s existing Leaders platform. This platform consists of actively managed equity portfolios that focus on companies with durable competitive advantages, pricing power and consistent earnings growth. Existing strategies on the platform include Emerging Market Leaders, International Leaders and Global Leaders.
Chandan Khanna has over 15 years of public equity investing experience. Prior to that he was Senior Partner and Portfolio Manager at Eighteen48 Partners, where he ran the Sixteen02 Global Equity Fund. Before that, he was Lead Global Equity Portfolio Manager at Rezayat Investments. Previously, he was employed at KPMG and had investment positions at Capital Group and Morgan Stanley.
William Blair Investment Management has seeded the Global Leaders Select Strategy with $225 million via a separately managed account. Since the beginning, the firm has therefore put a lot of capital behind the strategy.
