FIS has officially launched its Digital One™ Commercial across the Asia-Pacific region, providing financial institutions with a modern platform to enhance business banking operations. FIS Digital One™ Commercial platform allows banks to support all business segments with one deployment. Institutions can also upgrade their services without having to replace their core banking systems. This approach allows banks to increase efficiency, while satisfying the ever-increasing customer expectations.
The launch completes the global rollout of FIS Digital One™ Commercial, making the platform available to financial institutions in the United States, EMEA and APAC. Also, the solution provides a core-agnostic and composable architecture that enables banks to add new capabilities without a large-scale technology overhaul. This enables institutions to scale commercial banking services while protecting existing technology investments.
During 2025, APAC saw an increase of 5.5% in corporate banking IT spend, according to Celent. Moreover, expenditure increased 6.2% in 2026 as banks invested in client lifecycle management and digital corporate banking platforms. But many institutions still operate different systems for small and medium-sized businesses and corporate customers. This means banks are still grappling with regional compliance challenges, data sovereignty requirements, and ever-increasing demands for connected digital banking experiences.
Platform Provides Flexible Banking Infrastructure
Digital One Commercial serves business customers through the financial life cycle. It covers cash management, payments, trade finance, foreign exchange and corporate treasury services. It also has an API-first architecture that integrates with existing core banking systems and supports real-time, multi-rail payment networks such as PayNow, GIRO, FAST and SWIFT/ISO.
The platform also offers banks the ability to serve small businesses, midsized companies and enterprise clients under one umbrella system. Institutions can roll out new capabilities incrementally as per business requirements, rather than having to maintain multiple country-specific platforms. This reduces the operational complexity and enhances the customer service for the banks.
Also native support for English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Bahasa Indonesia and Vietnamese is supported by Digital One Commercial. It also supports multiple currencies and time zones. This means banks can offer services for several APAC markets on a single platform instance.
The solution also has direct integration with ERP and accounting systems. This allows businesses to access banking services within existing workflows rather than switching between financial platforms and banking portals.
A leading APAC bank has already rolled out Digital One Commercial to 15 countries with a single deployment. The institution serves around 350,000 business customers and more than one million end users. In addition, the bank has increased commercial banking revenue and decreased the time-to-market for product launches, while also decreasing the complexity of managing multiple country-specific systems.
“APAC’s commercial banking landscape is among the most complex in the world, and too many banks are navigating it with separate systems built for individual markets rather than the region. The opportunity is not incremental improvement — it is helping banks unite their commercial banking operations, serve every business segment from a single platform, and unlock growth across the region,” said Peter Boyer, Co-President, Banking Solutions, FIS.
“In APAC, the shift toward platform-based commercial banking is accelerating, driven by the need to unify client experiences and support cross-border services,” said Colin Kerr, Head of Banking and Payments, Celent. “Banks are increasingly prioritizing flexible, integration-led architectures that can sit alongside existing cores – making solutions such as Digital One Commercial highly relevant to current transformation agendas.”
