Neuberger Specialty Finance Launches New Bridge AeroFinance

AeroFinance

Neuberger Specialty Finance has announced the launch of New Bridge AeroFinance, a new aerospace financing platform. The platform will help NBSF-managed funds originate and acquire aerospace loans. It will also invest in other debt instruments in the aerospace sector. New York, September 14, 2026 Neuberger Specialty Finance announced the deal through a partnership with top aerospace finance professionals.

The new platform will focus on opportunities across the broader aerospace market. It will follow NBSF’s established approach to asset-based investments. In addition, New Bridge AeroFinance will seek investments that provide downside protection and durable cash flows. The platform plans to build a portfolio exceeding US$2 billion during its initial development phase. Therefore, the launch marks a significant expansion of NBSF’s specialty finance activities.

New Bridge AeroFinance will focus on opportunities throughout the aerospace industry. It will pursue a strategy of loans and other debt instruments linked to aviation and aerospace assets. The platform will be built on deep industry knowledge and NBSF’s investment capabilities. The business therefore seeks to respond to financing opportunities that require experienced underwriting and flexible capital.

Sean Hinze, Managing Director who leads hard asset investing at NBSF, commented on the launch.“Launching New Bridge AeroFinance represents a compelling opportunity to build a differentiated aviation & transportation credit platform in a market where specialized capital, structuring expertise and speed of execution are increasingly valuable. Aviation finance is a complex, asset-intensive sector where deep underwriting experience matters. We believe New Bridge is well positioned to provide flexible, scalable financing solutions across the capital structure.

Experienced Aviation Finance Team to Lead Platform

Richard Moody will lead New Bridge AeroFinance as the platform moves into its next phase. Debbie Frew and William Glaister will serve as Co-Founders and Principals. The leadership team brings extensive experience across aviation finance and asset finance. Moody most recently served as Global Head of Aviation Finance at Hamburg Commercial Bank AG.

Moody was previously a global head of Transportation Finance at Deutsche Bank AG. He has been involved in major financing activities for aviation and transportation markets. Meanwhile, Frew has senior-level experience from Hamburg Commercial Bank AG and Deutsche Bank AG. Her experience adds to this platform’s ability to finance aviation. Glaister also has broad structured asset finance experience. He was formerly Global Head of Asset Finance at Clifford Chance LLP.

The leadership team has a combined expertise in aviation lending, transportation finance and asset-based investments. This experience will aid New Bridge AeroFinance in developing its financing strategy. The platform will try to use that expertise in other parts of the aerospace ecosystem. It will also cover the transactions, involving various aviation and aerospace assets.

NBSF Brings Significant Capital and Investment Experience

Neuberger Specialty Finance is the Asset Based Finance division of Neuberger. Neuberger is an independent, privately owned investment manager owned by its employees. The company manages US$613 billion in a variety of investment strategies. These include equities, fixed income, private equity, real estate and hedge funds. It has global institutions, advisors and individuals[1] as clients. Since its launch in 2018, NBSF has managed more than US$5 billion. It now comprises more than 50 portfolio companies and a number of investment vehicles. The group is led by Peter Sterling who oversees its broader investment activities.

NBSF has cumulatively invested more than US16 billion through 80 global origination partners. These partners range from commercial banks to fintech companies. The investments cover thousands of underlying loans across different markets. Consequently, NBSF brings an established sourcing network and investment infrastructure to New Bridge AeroFinance. The combination provides the new platform with access to capital and origination capabilities. It also strengthens the platform’s ability to evaluate specialized aerospace financing opportunities.

Leadership Highlights Opportunity in Aviation Credit

Richard Moody and his team bring substantial experience across aviation and transportation finance, and we believe combining that specialist capability with Neuberger Specialty Finance’s capital base, sourcing network and global platform creates a significant opportunity to build a leading franchise.

Richard Moody added, “We are delighted to partner with Neuberger to develop a structured debt platform focused on creative solutions for the broader aerospace sector, targeting transactions across the capital stack involving not just aircraft but all parts of the aviation and aerospace ecosystem. Neuberger Specialty Finance’s experienced team, creative approach, and flexible capital make them a natural partner in our mission to build a best-in-class financing business”.

The launch is indicative of the growing demand for specialized capital in aviation and transportation finance. New Bridge AeroFinance will be looking to respond with flexible and scalable financing solutions. The platform will also explore opportunities across the wider aerospace ecosystem. Its strategy will not only be about aircraft-centric transactions. Instead, New Bridge AeroFinance will consider opportunities across the capital structure. This approach could include financing involving different assets and businesses across aviation and aerospace.

With NBSF’s capital base and experienced leadership, the platform is ready to enter the market. It also signals its growth ambitions with an initial portfolio target of more than US$2 billion. Overall, New Bridge AeroFinance increases Neuberger Specialty Finance’s footprint in specialty asset-based finance. The platform will bring together aviation expertise, structured debt capabilities and flexible investment capital.
