Expensify Among First Expense Management Tools Available in Claude for Small Businesses

Expensify

Expensify, Inc. has added a new integration with Anthropic to expand its expense management capabilities. The integration makes Expensify one of the first expense management tools available via the Claude for Small Business plugin. The new Expense Management integration introduces expense data, receipts, and spending insights into Claude. Therefore, small business owners can complete important back-office tasks with a single conversation.

The integration links Expensify with Claude to make the everyday financial workflows easier. Now business owners can ask Expensify for information with plain-language prompts. For instance, users can ask what previous month’s expenses are missing receipts. They can also analyze software subscription spending by vendor for a given quarter.

In addition, users can compare their monthly spending and identify what factors are behind changes in expenses. Claude then looks at the expense, card and receipt data from Expensify. It gives you the right answers in seconds. This approach can reduce manual work for routine Expense Management tasks. Business owners would spend valuable hours tracking down receipts and reviewing transactions. They also had to audit expenditure details and prepare financial information for accountants. Now, they can ask these requests in natural language through Claude.

“Receipts, reimbursements, and the card statement are where a small business’s books fall apart,” said Nick Tooker, Head of Partnerships at Expensify. “Expensify already codes and matches transactions the moment they hit, catches anything outside policy before it becomes a problem, and hands you books that are ready to close at month-end. Claude now puts all of the specifics just a question away.”

Simplifying Small Business Expense Management

Expensify brings established financial management capabilities to small businesses through the Claude integration. The company positions the connector as part of the finance workflows available through the Claude for Small Business plugin. The integration can help small businesses manage expense information without relying on multiple separate processes. It also gives users a simpler way to access expense data and spending details.

Moreover, the integration supports the growing use of AI across everyday business operations. Small businesses can use conversational AI to access financial information without navigating complex workflows. Expensify also plans to host a free, live webinar about its connector this fall. The webinar will form part of the Claude for Small Business partner webinar series. The company will use the session to provide more information about the connector and its capabilities. Small businesses interested in the integration can register for the upcoming webinar.

Connecting Expenses, Receipts, and Card Data

Expensify supports several areas of Expense Management through its existing platform. These include expenses, reimbursements, receipts, and corporate card transactions. The company says its platform codes and matches transactions as they arrive. It also identifies transactions that fall outside company policies before they create additional issues.

Moreover, Expensify offers support to companies in their month-end closing processes. Those features help companies in their regular financial activities. With the help of Claude integration, which makes use of conversational technology, users can interact with their financial data in more useful way rather than searching through the records manually.

Nick Tooker, Head of Partnerships at Expensify, highlighted the importance of receipts and transaction management for small businesses. The integration therefore extends Expense Management Software into a conversational AI environment. It gives small business owners another way to review expenses and understand spending activity.

Expensify believes the system will allow the financial information to be more easily obtained. Claude itself is responsible for the verbal interface that is used to access this information. Therefore, the two technologies unite the expense tracking, receipt management, card information, and spend analytics processes. Thus, the new system ensures more effective dealing with the small business financial management processes.
