Fortem Technologies Announces $50M Series B Financing Led by Lockheed Martin

Fortem

Fortem Technologies, a global airspace security leader, has closed its $50 million Series B financing. The Fortem Technologies Series B round was led by Lockheed Martin. Lockheed Martin committed $25 million through the initial tranche announced earlier this year. Meanwhile, Unusual Machines and other strategic and institutional investors also joined the financing.

The new funding comes as unauthorized and hostile drones create growing risks. These risks affect both civilian and military airspace. As a result, demand continues to increase for integrated airspace protection systems. Fortem Technologies provides this protection through its layered security architecture. The company will use the Series B capital to accelerate manufacturing. The expansion will take place at its Lindon, Utah facility.

Furthermore, Fortem plans to expand global deployment of its SkyDome® Family of Systems. The platform combines several technologies into one integrated airspace security solution. The system employs TrueView® radar sensors to identify airborne threats. It also employs AI command-and-control software to handle threats. DroneHunter® autonomous interceptors are also used to counter aerial threats. Together, these technologies detect, track, classify and defeat aerial threats.

“The participation of Lockheed Martin, Unusual Machines, and other key investors confirms Fortem’s leadership of airspace security,” said Charlie O’Connell, Chief Business Officer at Fortem Technologies. “The threat is real, demand is here, and our technology is proven in real-world environments – from the Middle East to Europe to the World Cup. This capital lets Fortem scale to meet accelerating demand for our products.”

Growing Demand for Counter-UAS Technology

Recent developments highlight the growing demand for Fortem Technologies solutions. The company recently secured a multimillion-dollar Department of Homeland Security contract. The contract supports security for venues hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Fortem also secured a U.S. Army contract for worldwide installation defense.

Meanwhile, the company continues strengthening its integration with Lockheed Martin’s Sanctum™ Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems architecture. In August, Fortem reached another major milestone with the Department of Homeland Security. The company became the only small business selected by DHS as a prime contractor. The selection covers a five-year C-UAS hardware and software contract. The contract has an estimated starting ceiling of $1.011 billion.

The contract also provides for additional expansion throughout the life of the contract. This agreement complements Fortem’s expanding footprint in the counter-drone technology market. This latest financing will therefore enable Fortem to respond to increasing demand. It will also help the company to increase deployments and ramp up manufacturing capacity. “Fortem Technologies remains committed to integrated airspace security. The technology is a combination of radar, AI, software and autonomous systems.

As drone threats keep evolving, organizations require counter-UAS solutions that are faster and more scalable. Fortem’s SkyDome® Family of Systems provides layered protection to meet these needs.

Fortem and Lockheed Martin Expand Strategic Collaboration

The investment also strengthens the relationship between Fortem Technologies and Lockheed Martin. Both companies continue working on counter-UAS capabilities for evolving security requirements.

“Our partners need counter-UAS capabilities that can move faster than the threat. They need solutions they can field quickly, scale in volume and adapt rapidly. That’s why we’re investing ahead of the need. This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to delivering the right capability, at an affordable cost, and at the speed of relevance,” said Stephanie C. Hill, President, Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems.

The Series B financing provides Fortem additional resources for its next phase. Now the company can ramp up production and support broader international deployments. It has also recently signed contracts that point to increased demand for counter-drone systems. These agreements are for homeland security, military defense and major global events.

Fortem Technologies will keep advancing its airspace security capabilities. The company is designed to meet the increasing needs of the civilian and military markets. Fortem also benefits from ongoing strategic support, including an investment led by Lockheed Martin. The financing round is further strengthened by Unusual Machines and other investors.

Fortem Technologies’ Series B financing marks another milestone in the company’s growth. It supports manufacturing growth, technology deployment and wider counter-UAS operations.
