Visa Direct Rolls Out Stablecoin-Powered Money Movement as Pilots Go Live

Visa Direct

Visa Direct launches commercial use of Visa Direct stablecoin payments moves stablecoin capabilities beyond pilot programs. The company is collaborating with Inyo Global to put the stablecoin-enabled prefunding into production. This development provides eligible businesses with a new option to fund cross-border payouts through Visa Direct.

Visa has unveiled a new phase in its stablecoin strategy with Visa Direct pushing forward with more meaningful commercial adoption. This is a critical step in bringing stablecoin technology into the mainstream of business payments. Inyo Global is now the first Visa Direct processor to offer this new service to eligible Visa Direct members and affiliates.

Visa Direct has been working with clients and partners over the past year to explore how stablecoins can help improve cross-border money transfers. At the same time, businesses are still looking for speed and flexibility in their funding.” These solutions help companies manage liquidity and support payments when needed. Visa is now moving forward with its earlier stablecoin endeavors into practical business operations.

“The next chapter for stablecoins is adoption,” said Vira Platonova, Global Head of Visa Direct. “Over the last several years, we’ve worked with several partners and clients to explore how these technologies can improve money movement. We’re now seeing those efforts translate into live implementations, helping businesses access more flexible and efficient ways to fund and move money globally through Visa Direct, starting with Inyo Global as our first enabler.”

Visa Direct and Inyo Global Introduce Stablecoin Prefunding

Visa is working with Inyo Global to bring its stablecoin-enabled prefunding capability to market. Inyo Global provides payment infrastructure for money transmitters, fintech companies, banks and payment businesses.

Through this collaboration, Inyo has integrated the capability into its current platform. That means eligible businesses can fund cross-border payouts in advance via Visa Direct using USDC. The process is near real time in its working, not solely reliant on traditional funding windows.

This approach gives more flexibility to companies to manage their international payment processes. Eligible clients can also benefit from stablecoin prefunding, allowing access to funds outside of traditional banking hours. This creates opportunities for companies to look at other ways to support global payouts and liquidity needs.

Inyo also supports a single connection to process multiple payment transactions. Businesses can onboard users, manage fraud and compliance, accept payments and send domestic and international payouts. The platform offers payment services in more than 180 countries with Visa Direct.

Visa Direct Head Vira Platonova will also discuss how stablecoins are reshaping global money movement during several Money20/20 USA sessions next week.

From Stablecoin Pilots to Commercial Production

Visa has also started piloting stablecoin-enabled payment capabilities in 2025. The programs were focused on prefunding and payouts via Visa Direct. They also discussed the potential of stablecoins in providing cross-border funding, liquidity management and international money movement for eligible clients.

The pilots helped Visa and its partners evaluate possible applications of stablecoin technology. The company is moving these capabilities into commercial operations. Inyo Global is the first enabler to launch the Visa Direct stablecoin prefunding feature to production.

The move is a milestone for companies looking for alternatives to traditional ways of funding payments. It also shows how assets built on blockchains can complement existing payment infrastructure.

“Innovation in money movement is ultimately about creating a better experience for customers, and that’s exactly our focus at Inyo,” said Robson Dantas, Chief Product and Technology Officer and co-founder at Inyo Global. “By integrating Visa Direct’s stablecoin-enabled prefunding into the Inyo platform, we’re giving the money transmitters, fintechs and payment companies we serve a new way to fund their payouts, one that is available around the clock and runs through the same Inyo APIs they already use.”

Connecting Traditional Payments With Blockchain Technology

The implementation is part of Visa’s broader strategy to connect traditional payment infrastructure with blockchain-enabled innovations. With the launch of stablecoin funding capabilities, Visa is offering clients the opportunity to explore new ways to improve payment efficiencies. At the same time, the company continues to tout the reliability, security and scale of its global network. This technique allows companies to innovate in funding modes, while leveraging existing payment infrastructure

Stablecoin-based money movement can also provide businesses with an additional option when it comes to processing international payments. In particular, the ability to make prefunding choices while still having the option to change them later on could make such a system more attractive to enterprises that have to make a number of cross-border disbursements. The current cooperation between Visa and Inyo Global is therefore an important step towards the adoption of stablecoins in the corporate M2B payment space, with various businesses in the financial sector already showing an interest in being able to implement such a system.

With the increasing number of adoptions, Visa is focusing on working with clients and partners to enable more stablecoin use cases. The company aims to scale the opportunities globally to support money movement and fulfill businesses’ growing needs in payment methods. Visa Direct is set to take another step in the direction of bringing stablecoin innovation into existing payment ecosystems, with Inyo Global leading the charge. The move shows the payment giant’s recognition of the significance of USDC and blockchain-fueled funding in the modern cross-border payments environment.
