In a key leadership milestone for the company, Conga has promoted Ian Wathen to Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The appointment was announced as part of Conga’s long-term business strategy. Wathen’s deep experience and financial leadership will help to drive continued growth for Conga, and further strengthen financial operations globally.
This appointment is effective immediately. As chief financial officer, Wathen will oversee the company’s global finance organization. He oversees Financial Planning and Analysis, Accounting, Investor Relations and Strategic Financial Operations. He will also join Conga’s executive leadership team. He will work closely with the C-Suite and the Board of Directors to support customers, business partners and employees across the organization.
The leadership change speaks to Conga’s confidence in Wathen’s deep knowledge of the company’s financial makeup and strategic direction. Beside, his ten years of service have allowed him to build trusted relationships throughout the organization. His background also places him well to lead the finance function through the company’s next phase of growth.
Wathen has made significant contributions over the years, said Conga Chief Executive Officer Dave Osborne. “Wathen has demonstrated consistent strong leadership and financial expertise on a number of key business initiatives,” Osborne said.
“Ian has earned this role many times over,” said Dave Osborne, Chief Executive Officer of Conga. “Over the last decade, he has demonstrated an exceptional understanding of Conga’s business and has already built a deep trust with stakeholders. Having served as Conga’s interim CFO, he knows what it takes to lead this function at the highest level. This is the right person, at the right time, and I couldn’t be more confident in the decision.”
Decade of Financial Leadership Supports Conga’s Next Growth Phase
Ian Wathen joined Conga more than ten years ago. Since then, he has served in several senior finance leadership positions. Most recently, he held the role of Senior Vice President of Finance. Throughout his tenure, he gained comprehensive knowledge of the company’s financial performance, strategic priorities, and operational goals.
Furthermore, Wathen previously served as interim CFO. That experience prepared him to assume the permanent position with minimal transition. His familiarity with the company’s operations allows him to immediately contribute at the executive level while supporting long-term financial planning.
Wathen expressed appreciation for the opportunity and acknowledged the confidence shown by the company’s leadership.
“I’m honored to take on this role and grateful to Dave and the Board for their trust,” said Wathen. “I’ve spent 10 years learning the business alongside an incredible team, and I care deeply about where we’re headed. My focus is to continue the momentum this team has built and make sure the Finance team is a true partner to every part of the business internally and externally.”
The appointment strengthens Conga’s executive leadership team while reinforcing its long-term financial strategy. Additionally, the company expects Wathen’s leadership to support operational excellence, strategic decision-making, and sustainable business growth. As Conga continues expanding its business, the finance organization remains well-positioned to support innovation, customer success, and future investment opportunities.
