Interactive Brokers Introduces Agentic Trading Through Direct Integration with Claude

agentic trading

Interactive Brokers announced an incredible new artificial intelligence feature today. Global investors can now experience advanced agentic trading directly within their brokerage accounts. This functionality works via a fresh integration with the Claude platform. Users can access this setup through the certified connector marketplace immediately. This tool connects clients safely to more than 170 global markets.

Milan Galik, Chief Executive Officer of Interactive Brokers, commented on the rapid growth of digital tools.

“Interactive Brokers has used technology for over four decades to help investors make more informed decisions and interact more efficiently with markets. Investors are increasingly using artificial intelligence to research markets, analyze information, and generate ideas. We believe the next logical step is to allow clients to securely connect AI tools directly to their brokerage accounts, whether they want a simple conversational interface, deeper portfolio analysis, or the ability to develop and execute sophisticated trading strategies.”

The software allows clients to link accounts quickly. This process requires an existing login and takes just a few minutes. Furthermore, users face no additional costs. Lenders do not need to fund a separate brokerage account either.

The tool utilizes the exact same APIs that active clients use. Consequently, automated software handles positions, open orders, and trade history. It processes margin information and live market data. Security remains a top priority for the enterprise. The firm built an enterprise-level system. No passwords or API keys are shared with the external software provider. No credentials sit on the user’s computer.

Safe Portfolio Instruction Approvals

Clients can ask complex questions using regular natural language. The system provides immediate analysis using specific account information. It can even create specific trade instructions based on those responses.

The software utilizes a strict human-in-the-middle system design. Generated instructions go straight to a dedicated AI Instructions tab. Users look at these items on the Orders and Trades page. Investors can see the ideas and approve them before they become actual marketplace orders.

At launch, the tool handles equities and ETFs. It supports standard market and limit orders. Additional asset classes will arrive within a single week.

Claude is live now, but ChatGPT, Gemini, and Grok are undergoing certification. The company already features AI Screeners for 70,000 global stocks. It also provides automated Investment Themes and AI News Summaries.
