OPIM and Qraft Capital Introduce AI-Driven Fund
OP Investment Management Ltd. (OPIM) has partnered with Qraft Capital (BVI) Limited to launch the Qraft Soliton Master Fund. The Cayman-based fund leverages AI-driven investment strategies to help global investors secure sustainable returns.
The new vehicle uses a multi-strategy approach. It continuously iterates quantitative models and identifies hidden opportunities in liquid equity derivatives markets. These markets span Korea, Hong Kong SAR, the United States, and Europe.
The Fund applies systematic strategies. These include equity long-short (market-neutral), mid-frequency long-biased, and arbitrage models. Each aims to balance risk while boosting efficiency.
Qraft Technologies, headquartered in Seoul, drives the Fund’s technology. The company has affiliates across Asia-Pacific and the United States. Backed by a $146 million Series C investment from SoftBank Group in 2022, Qraft has pioneered AI-powered asset management. Its innovations underpin U.S.-listed AI-driven ETFs and set new standards in portfolio construction.
Jae Hyeok Heo, CIO of the Fund, highlighted the opportunity. “This partnership brings Qraft’s proprietary AI-driven strategies into an institutional framework,” he said. He added that the Fund leverages pattern recognition and disciplined quantitative processes to create value for global investors.
Expanding Access for Global Investors
The Fund offers institutional and professional investors direct access to Qraft’s AI expertise. Previously, these strategies were limited to internal use. Now, OPIM’s robust platform provides oversight and infrastructure, connecting Qraft with international capital.
Alvin Fan, CEO of OPIM, noted South Korea’s emerging strength. “South Korea’s investment expertise has been underestimated,” he said. “The KOSPI’s strong 2025 performance, supported by governance reforms, highlights the skill of Korean managers.”
Industry observers say this launch strengthens OPIM’s role as a leading Asia-based fund platform. It also positions Qraft as a global force in AI-driven asset management.
Key partners include:
- Prime Broker and Custodian: Morgan Stanley
- Administrator: Maples Fund Services
- Auditor: KPMG
- Legal Counsel: Charles Russell Speechlys LLP and Walkers
The Fund demonstrates how AI-driven investment strategies are reshaping global markets and offering new pathways for institutional growth.
