Prime Cash expands cash management options for fintech companies and their customers. Treasury Prime has launched Prime Cash to simplify cash deposits into digital accounts. Powered by Green Dot’s embedded finance platform, Arc, the solution enables customers to add cash at more than 90,000 participating Green Dot Network retail locations across the United States.
The launch extends Treasury Prime’s embedded banking platform, bridging the gap between digital financial services and convenient retail cash access. This means that fintech companies can provide services to consumers who still use cash for their day-to-day transactions. It also means they don’t have to build a complex retail cash infrastructure themselves.
Cash remains an essential payment method for millions of Americans. Many gig workers, small business owners, and underbanked households continue depending on cash despite growing digital banking adoption. Therefore, Treasury Prime developed Prime Cash to bridge the gap between physical cash and digital financial accounts.
“Financial access shouldn’t depend on whether a customer uses cash or digital rails,” said Chris Dean, CEO of Treasury Prime. “With Prime Cash, fintechs can meet customers where they are, unlocking new growth opportunities while expanding access to essential financial services. Our platform also ensures financial institutions retain visibility and governance over transactions as they scale.”
Prime Cash Expands Embedded Banking Access
Through Prime Cash, customers can generate a secure, time-sensitive barcode within a fintech application. They can present the barcode at participating retail stores and add cash directly into their accounts. In most cases, funds become available within minutes.
Treasury Prime also manages network rules and compliance through a single API integration. As a result, fintech partners can introduce cash-loading capabilities without additional operational complexity.
Green Dot’s Arc platform and nationwide retail network power the solution. The network includes more than 90,000 locations, including Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, and other major retailers. Furthermore, nearly 96 percent of Americans live within three miles of a participating location.
“The promise of fintech has always been broader access to better financial tools – but that promise rings hollow if you can’t fund your account because you rely on cash,” said Renata Caine, senior vice president and general manager, embedded finance at Green Dot. “Arc and the Green Dot Network exist to close that exact gap, and Treasury Prime is a partner that understands why that matters. We’re not just adding a method to transact in cash; we’re expanding who gets to participate in modern financial services.”
The launch of Prime Cash reinforces Treasury Prime’s commitment to improving financial accessibility. Moreover, it helps fintech companies deliver secure, convenient, and scalable cash management services for a broader customer base.
