FICO Partners with Plaid to Launch Cash-Flow-Powered UltraFICO®

FICO

FICO today announced a strategic partnership with Plaid to launch a cash-flow credit score that redefines consumer risk assessment. The new score integrates real-time transaction data from Plaid with FICO’s well-established scoring model.

By blending cash inflows and outflows from checking, savings, and other accounts, this enhanced UltraFICO® Score gives lenders a richer view of consumer financial behavior. It coincides with FICO’s highest-rated score, which means lenders do not have to engage with a new system.

With Plaid, FICO is launching a cash-flow credit score that utilizes real-time financial data as part of its existing score. The combined models allow lenders to gain a richer understanding of consumer spending patterns. Executives have stated that their partnership provides lenders and institutions with enhanced chances for inclusion and adoption. The Plaid Check rollout will speed up deployment and is fully interoperable with existing FICO systems.

FICO’s vice president, Julie May, said the partnership fills a market-wide need for more inclusive and forward-looking credit decisions. At the same time, the solution minimizes operational friction by allowing seamless integration with existing FICO workflows.

FICO and Plaid Partner to Launch Real-Time Cash-Flow Credit Scoring

Plaid’s head of partnerships, Adam Yoxtheimer, added that the firm’s open finance network spanning over 12,000 institutions enables this real-time insight. This collaboration empowers lenders to make more confident lending decisions and improve financial inclusion.

Importantly, the new UltraFICO® Score will roll out via Plaid Check, Plaid’s consumer reporting agency. This distribution channel helps speed adoption and offers universal compatibility with FICO’s existing ecosystem.

Overall, the FICO–Plaid partnership marks a major step in bringing cash flow credit scoring into mainstream lending, blending tried-and-tested credit models with real-time financial intelligence.
