Capital One Software just rolled out some intelligent performance features. Their B2B software division launched these tools to upgrade Capital One Slingshot. Now, the platform uses environmental context to pinpoint deep data infrastructure issues. This allows engineering teams to maximize their Snowflake workload performance.
Such advancements represent a huge step forward in enterprise data management, where optimization was restricted to individual components in isolation. This strategy covers code, pipelines, infrastructure, and actual users.
Jeff Chou, VP of Slingshot Product Management, emphasized why system-wide visibility matters.
“Enterprise data infrastructure is a complex web of inter-dependencies that requires a context-first approach for optimization at scale. Slingshot’s intelligent optimization capabilities can help businesses understand what their queries are actually doing, what their tables are built for, and where their teams are unknowingly duplicating work. That’s how we help enterprises get efficient at the system level.”
Smarter Data Infrastructure Controls
Several highly anticipated features drop with this release. For example, Context-Aware AI Query Optimization tracks your most expensive workflows. It flags them by cost, frequency, and runtime. Then, it serves up clear, actionable fixes.
Similarly, Table Optimization analyzes your top 50 tables. It handles multi-dimensional infrastructure fixes based on query impact. Before making any changes, Slingshot validates the update. This guarantees that you will never break running queries.
Moreover, enterprise teams can save costs from building similar pipelines. Here, AI is used to detect similarities in patterns. Workloads are compared to confirm functional equivalence.
Finally, the new Data Explorer tool offers an interactive analytics interface. Teams can easily dive into root infrastructure problems. The dashboard lets users slice Snowflake costs by accounts, users, and tags.
Want to see these tools live? Capital One Software is currently showcasing them in San Francisco. Join them at the Snowflake Summit, June 1-4, 2026, booth #1211. Also, they are conducting meetings at the Gartner Security Summit up until June 3, 2026.
Capital One is still one of the dominant firms in the FinTech world. As of late 2025, the bank held $475.8 billion in deposits. Total assets topped $669.0 billion. They run all operations from their headquarters in McLean, Virginia. Indeed, Capital One is the only American bank that is in the public cloud.
