Digital Wallet Ecosystem Mi Clip Debuts Through Clip’s Strategic Alliance with Ant International, Mastercard, and Televisa-Univision

Digital Wallet Ecosystem

Clip has introduced Mi Clip, which is its latest innovation, a Digital Wallet Ecosystem for increasing digital payment activities in Mexico. The project will promote increased use and merchant acceptance of the services and provide access to formal financial services.

Digital Wallet Ecosystem leverages the combined efforts of Clip, Ant International, Mastercard, and Televisa-Univision. They are going to support the developing Mexican digital economy by creating this ecosystem.

With the help of Mi Clip, users can access digital accounts that enable transactions, access financial services, and even credit solutions. Furthermore, Mi Clip helps users create formal financial identities.

There are three main strategic objectives pursued by the project. Firstly, the company plans to switch consumers and merchants from cash to digital payments using an advanced mobile app. Also, the platform facilitates high-volume purchasing occasions such as Buen Fin.

Thirdly, insights from transaction data and artificial intelligence are leveraged by the platform to enable credits. This allows small enterprises and individual consumers access to finance.

Enabling Mexico’s Digital Economy

Even today, Mexico relies very much on cash-based transactions. Nevertheless, Mi Clip tackles this problem in a straightforward manner using digital technology. Individuals gain access to payment, savings, and credit products, while merchants can receive payments via various means on a single platform.

Clip brings its vast experience and merchant base. On the other hand, Ant International brings innovative payment technology using artificial intelligence and Alipay+ globally. Mastercard offers a secure payment infrastructure and interoperability across the globe, while Televisa-Univision brings financial education through its media outreach capability.

“Our mission has always been to empower businesses, and those businesses love us every day, but today, we extend that promise to every single consumer in Mexico,” said Adolfo Babatz, Founder and CEO of Clip. “By connecting Ant International’s technology, Mastercard’s global network, and Televisa-Univision’s unique reach, we are creating a financial tool that is as simple to use as cash but with the security and opportunities of the digital world, including the vital ability to access credit and build a financial future.”

Douglas Feagin, President of Ant International, said: “We are proud to bring our global technology solutions to Mexico through this partnership and honored to welcome Mi Clip users to the Alipay+ payment gateway so that they can pay at merchants globally. Together, we are building a more inclusive digital future for millions of consumers and merchants in what is perhaps the most significant payments opportunity at scale in the world today. Looking ahead, we will pursue AI innovations and agentic commerce applications together.”

“The true value of the digital economy is realized when more people, in more places, can access its benefits. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to expanding payment choice and acceptance and advancing financial inclusion in Mexico. Mastercard is proud to support solutions like Mi Clip that enable secure, interoperable, open, and scalable digital experiences across the ecosystem”, said Silvana Hernández, Mastercard’s Division President for North Latin America.
