Customers Bank Appoints Stephen Wyremski as Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Customers Bank recently named Stephen Wyremski as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead strategic operations. This appointment became effective on January 26, 2026. Wyremski has more than twenty years of experience in financial leadership. He was a strategic advisor for the bank since 2024. In this position, he worked on modernization and data projects. His skills will be used for further development of the bank and its digital transformation.

The bank currently manages over $24 billion in assets. It ranks among the top 80 largest bank holding companies in the United States. Wyremski will oversee complex financial functions and enterprise transformation projects. Before joining this team, he served as CFO for a large New York commercial bank. He also spent nearly a decade in the banking audit practice at KPMG. These roles provided him with deep regulatory and strategic experience.

Driving Operational Excellence and Innovation

The leadership team expects Wyremski to enhance financial discipline across the organization. His background includes various finance roles at companies like AIG and Veeco. He also holds a bachelor’s degree from Boston College. Additionally, he has been a licensed certified public accountant for many years. His arrival marks a significant step for the bank’s future growth.
